Well hi there again! Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been sort of MIA the last couple of weeks, and that would be due to the plague that hit our household. As usual the back to school germs took hold and had us all sick for what seemed like FOREVER! Anyway, I did find a few extra minutes between disinfecting the house and catching up on laundry to whip up a cute and simple fall coffee table tray.
I just couldn’t pass up this wooden tray I spotted at the thrift store for $1.00.
It had definitely seen better days. The wood was beat up and warped on the bottom.
I simply used a paper towel and white chalk paint to give the tray a whitewashed look.
I opted to Mod Podge scrapbook paper to the bottom of the tray. (You guys… I just now realized it’s Mod Podge, not Modge Podge. I’ve been saying it wrong my whole life. Sheesh!)
The metallic paper adds a fun accent to the tray. Wouldn’t this be pretty at Christmas full of vintage ornaments?!
I added an antler, a few ceramic pumpkins from the Dollar Tree, a jar of autumn joy sedum and a few acorns to the tray.
This little tray looks so pretty on our DIY coffee table. It’s finally starting to look like fall around here.
The grey scrapbook paper ties in beautifully with our TV cabinet.
After dragging myself to every store in town, I discovered that there were no real white pumpkins to be had. What the heck is up with that? Oh well, these little dollar store pumpkins are pretty darn cute!
I think Autumn Joy Sedum is quite possible one of my most favorite plants. It’s beautiful year round.
I love your comments and feedback. Let me know how you would have made over this thrift store tray.
Happy fall everyone!
