I must admit I’m a little obsessed with cheap goodwill frames. I knew I wanted to do some sort of gallery wall in my sons room when we re-decorated it, but as usual we had very limited funds to accomplish this. But not to fear… Goodwill is near! (did you read that in a superhero voice?)
To my amazement, there was actually a sale on frames that day and I picked a few beauties for a quarter a frame!
I know… I know! I almost passed this guy up! Sometimes it’s so hard to see the beauty behind all of the 80’s-ness. (yes, that’s a word)
I got right to work tearing the back off of this one.
I wanted to incorporate some green into my sons room, so I mixed up a few different colors of paint I had on hand. I think it turned out perfect.
After the paint dried, I just taped the frame back together.
I painted one frame grey and added stripes to another using masking tape.
Now came the hard part. We’ll not really hard, just more time consuming. I traced around everything I wanted to hang up using newspaper. This way, I could move things around without making a gazillion holes in little man’s freshly painted walls.
Once I had them where I wanted them I simply nailed them up.
My mom found the street sign for me, and the license plate was found by my hubby while on a hunting excursion.
I think it turned out really cute. I can’t wait to share the rest of his room with you!
Here’s a sneak peek.
What goodies have you found at goodwill lately?
